Message from the Director
The Curriculum and Instruction/Intervention Department provides student achievement support to schools within the Gilroy Unified School District through programs and materials, staff development, and effective instruction for students at all achievement levels. The Curriculum, Instruction and Intervention department uses the California Frameworks for K-12 Public Schools and other state developed tools in order to strengthen a common, coherent achievement vision throughout the district. The overarching goal of the Curriculum, Instruction and Intervention department is to provide the most current, standards-based materials, the most relevant and meaningful learning opportunities for teachers and students, and targeted support for students above or not meeting grade-level. This goal is achieved through:

In addition to the core instruction programmatic support, the Curriculum, Instruction and Intervention department also oversees the district Music and Performing Arts programs, Physical Education, electives, the district Health Council, Summer School, K-5 report card development, field trip permissions, EL coaching, ELA and math implementation coaching, and the Character Counts district initiative.
